Boku, Microsoft’s Little Big Planet
• 0 comments • Filed Under
Microsoft has recently unveiled its new project, Boku, at a conference in Los Angeles. Boku is an icon driven to allowing Xbox 360 and PC users the ability to create games with a controller. This is apparently built to create a bridge between user creation (ala Little Big Planet) and the more complex ideas behind XNA. It is being reported to be released in 2009 (with Microsoft rolling out the user created XNA stuff with the newer dashboard updates). The program manager Matthew MacLaurin says that he wanted the kids of today to be able to have as much fun as he did programming on his Commodore PET and away from the passive-TV watching.

Sequels for Little Big Planet and Saints Row 2 Already Underway
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThe guys over at 1up have compiled a couple of reports that state that Little Big Planet 2 and Saints Row 3 are already being developed. I find this crazy that one game has been out a couple of weeks at most and due to delays, the other is only had its online servers turned on last night! I guess the developers are confident enough that the two games will make them enough money to do sequels (or threequels). Hopefully they are right. Hit the link to check out the reports.
Do you think we need to see another Saints Row or Little Big Planet already?

Wednesday’s Arcade Release
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThis Wednesday on the Xbox Live Arcade will feature the game Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Now I know you are going to put off buying Fallout 3 and Guitar Hero: World Tour so you can get yourself 1200 points to purchase this awesome title! Not only can you answer questions for a computer rendered Jeff Foxworthy, but you can also use cheats like peeking at your partner’s paper. My guess is they did not want to release something too awesome in the midst of these amazing games coming out!
To make the day better they are releasing a new Marble Blast Ultra bonus level with a new achievement! Oh, that ain’t any better?

Mirror’s Edge Demo Rumored
• 0 comments • Filed UnderNow take this with a grain of salt — it comes from GameStop — but according to their Xbox 360 Mirror’s Edge page there will be a demo on November 6th. I think I’ll not make any special arrangements for that day until I hear from someone like, um I do not know, EA on whether or not this is actually happening or not. An interesting rumor to kick off this week of gaming goodness!

New Screenshots Of The New Xbox Experience
• 0 comments • Filed UnderJust yesterday we announced the registration for the New Xbox Experience and today we have some more screenshots to share with you. Hopefully for those of you who registered you’ll be lucky enough to be a part of the beta group, if not…well you can at least see the pictures we have for you here.
I’m kind of excited about the Netflix feature that’s going to be part of this new experience mainly because I’m lazy and don’t ever feel like mailing my envelopes back!

More Fable II Flaws
• 0 comments • Filed UnderFor those that are going to settle down this weekend and play through the impressive Fable II, another word of warning has surfaced about a couple of possible bugs that can actually break your game. 1up has published an article featuring the bugs and their possible work arounds until the patches are released (and they have acknowledged they are working on them).
One of the bugs involves the “Monk’s Quest” mission. If you leave the temple before the guy you need to speak to finishes your conversation, the game is not resumable, and you cannot finish the game. The other involves the co-op mode. If you join a game as a “Hero” with a player that is still in childhood mode it is possible you will lose all your money and experience. These are horrible bugs that for now these situations should be avoided.
Lionhead is working on patches for these and perhaps the aforementioned freezing problem. We will let you know more when it develops.

Tom Clancy’s EndWar Goes Gold
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThe newest Tom Clancy game has gone gold. Tom Clancy’s EndWar is now ready for manufacturing and shipping for its November 4th release date. This game allows you to experience a World War 3 while having a revolutionary voice command system where you can control the game through your headset. I do not know about you, but the idea of screaming commands into my headset makes me surprisingly excited to try this game. In fact, I am going to go play the Xbox 360 demo now!

Fable II Flaws?
• 4 comments • Filed Under
Kotaku has posted that they have been receiving reports and so has the Lionhead forums about potential freezing problems that are found in Fable II. Some have speculated that it might have to do with the co-op patch, but it could be noted that this could be Xbox 360 hardware problems or anything other than an actual problem with the game.
Have you had any problems? Let us know! We will keep you updated as always!

Microsoft Says Lips is a Platform, Track List Released
• 0 comments • Filed UnderMicrosoft Game Studio’s Director of Design Chris Esaki has recently said in an interview with 1up that the game Lips is a platform in the same vein as Rock Band. In his words this will include an aggressive DLC strategy as well.
They have also announced the track list that can be found in 1up’s article as well as the first mini-games. Esaki also explained the reason they went after the publisher iNiS was partly for the interesting mini-games.
I do not know how this game will stack up against its competitors just yet, but the games comes with two wireless motion-sensitive microphones for 70 bucks. It at least has an interesting tracklist with the option to add my own music (though not fully functional at launch)!

Gears of War 2 Being Pirated Before Official Release
• 0 comments • Filed UnderWith Gears of War 2 still a few weeks away from the official launch date, November 7, 2008, the software pirates have come out in full force. It is being reported that the full Gears of War 2 game has been duped and uploaded to various warez sites. With a whopping size of 6.76Gb, these pesky game pirates have split the file into 73 seperate RAR files.
Now in case you are getting a bit too eager and wanting a copy of this for yourself, keep in mind that copied games only work on modified Xbox 360 systems.
