BioShock’s PS3 DLC Priced, Laughed At

1 commentFiled Under

The new details about the Playstation 3’s Bioshock DLC has finally surfaced.  The content will be a measly $10, and will include 3 challenges.  These are the challenge rooms that you have been hearing about for a while now.  They are all self-contained and range from going through a gauntlet of baddie filled rooms to save a Little Sister to saving a little one from the top of a ferris wheel.

All three of them seem interesting to warrant a purchase of them together on November 20th.  I fail to see how this was supposed to sway people to buy the game for the PS3.  This seems like a wimpy release that I would have wished tied into the game somehow and contained a little more substance.

Check out Joystiq for more details on the content.

Sequels for Little Big Planet and Saints Row 2 Already Underway

Saints Row 2 Small

The guys over at 1up have compiled a couple of reports that state that Little Big Planet 2 and Saints Row 3 are already being developed.  I find this crazy that one game has been out a couple of weeks at most and due to delays, the other is only had its online servers turned on last night!  I guess the developers are confident enough that the two games will make them enough money to do sequels (or threequels).  Hopefully they are right.  Hit the link to check out the reports.

Do you think we need to see another Saints Row or Little Big Planet already?

Mirror’s Edge Demo Rumored

Mirror’s Edge Small

Now take this with a grain of salt — it comes from GameStop — but according to their Xbox 360 Mirror’s Edge page there will be a demo on November 6th.  I think I’ll not make any special arrangements for that day until I hear from someone like, um I do not know, EA on whether or not this is actually happening or not.  An interesting rumor to kick off this week of gaming goodness!

Tom Clancy’s EndWar Goes Gold

EndWar 1 Small

The newest Tom Clancy game has gone gold.  Tom Clancy’s EndWar is now ready for manufacturing and shipping for its November 4th release date.  This game allows you to experience a World War 3 while having a revolutionary voice command system where you can control the game through your headset.  I do not know about you, but the idea of screaming commands into my headset makes me surprisingly excited to try this game.  In fact, I am going to go play the Xbox 360 demo now!

Little Big Planet Patched

A couple of patches came out today that remedied the musical problems that caused Little Big Planet’s delay.  For the few that got their hands on it early, the game now patches to 1.02 and turns the “offensive” track into an instrumental work.  Maybe now Sony and everybody can put this behind them, and we do not have to hear about it anymore.

Big Delay for Little Big Planet

LBP Screen S
Well, it seems that right before the game launched that letters and reports have flown around about references to the Qur’an references in the soundtrack.  Sony has pulled the game off the shelves to get the situation resolved but what was once a European delay has turned worldwide.  Some reports put the delay at three weeks, but that is not an official date.

It also seems that a patch was ready for a day one release (like Fable 2’s co-op, except that one is more conspicuous), but Sony wanted to do the right thing for people unfortunate enough to to have the online services.  The patch will still release the same day as the game.  Plus one for Sony doing the right thing, but I am just curious as to the nature of the reference that warranted all this.

Some people got their hands on the first copy before the recall.  Maybe there’s some extra money on eBay for the pre-recall version even though there’s a patch.

PSN Thursday Update

PSN Logo

Today had some good content come to the PSN.  After a bit of maintenance (PSN and Live both have that most annoying feature), everything is almost back to normal.  Biggest two items are the release of SOCOM: Confrontation as a downloadable game and the apparent lack of Age of Booty.  The latter was previously confirmed for today, but it appears to be put off until perhaps next month.  More details on that as we receive them.

IGN has a great list of content released that can be found here.
