Microsoft Says Lips is a Platform, Track List Released
• 0 comments • Filed UnderMicrosoft Game Studio’s Director of Design Chris Esaki has recently said in an interview with 1up that the game Lips is a platform in the same vein as Rock Band. In his words this will include an aggressive DLC strategy as well.
They have also announced the track list that can be found in 1up’s article as well as the first mini-games. Esaki also explained the reason they went after the publisher iNiS was partly for the interesting mini-games.
I do not know how this game will stack up against its competitors just yet, but the games comes with two wireless motion-sensitive microphones for 70 bucks. It at least has an interesting tracklist with the option to add my own music (though not fully functional at launch)!

Microsoft Aims To Silence Trash Talking
• 0 comments • Filed Under
Ars Technica is reporting that Microsoft filed for a patent a while back for a real-time censoring of audio-streams. Yes that’s right trash talkers, this could mean that all those f-bombs you’re dropping while playing online could be a thing of the past.
I’m not sure if I’m too happy about this, I mean really if I want to dish out a few obscene words shouldn’t I be able to? The real issue they should be dealing with is the fact that 10 year olds are out there playing mature rated games because Mommy just couldn’t say no to her little sweetheart.

DirectX 10 Fails To Attract Gamers
• 0 comments • Filed Under
Microsoft’s DirectX 10 page talks about the benefits of DX10 in the future tense: “Many of the newest Windows games will take full advantage of the next-generation graphics technology in Windows Vista called DirectX 10.” Game developers have little incentive right now to produce games for DX10, as you’d only be able to utilize the DX10 features of the games on systems running Vista with a fairly high-end, newer graphics card. Considering the slow adoption rate of Vista, the plethora of Vista graphics driver problems, and the cost to consumers for worthy DX10 rigs, the sweet spot for game developers is still DX9 games on Windows XP.
