Big Delay for Little Big Planet
• 0 comments • Filed Under
Well, it seems that right before the game launched that letters and reports have flown around about references to the Qur’an references in the soundtrack. Sony has pulled the game off the shelves to get the situation resolved but what was once a European delay has turned worldwide. Some reports put the delay at three weeks, but that is not an official date.
It also seems that a patch was ready for a day one release (like Fable 2’s co-op, except that one is more conspicuous), but Sony wanted to do the right thing for people unfortunate enough to to have the online services. The patch will still release the same day as the game. Plus one for Sony doing the right thing, but I am just curious as to the nature of the reference that warranted all this.
Some people got their hands on the first copy before the recall. Maybe there’s some extra money on eBay for the pre-recall version even though there’s a patch.

Awesome Halloween Costume
• 1 comment • Filed UnderAll I can say is that I wish my Halloween costumes were as awesome as this one!
This kid’s dad built a scale light-up Mega Man costume for trick or treating in. I do not have the words to describe how awesome that is!

Blizzard’s a Big Tease
• 0 comments • Filed UnderBlizzard’s big wigs were dropping some information about the new Blizzard MMO that’s being developed. In articles on IGN and Gamespot, Blizzard CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime has stated that a new MMO will not be related to World of Warcraft. It will be completely different and will not compete with WoW. Of course they would not do anything to upset their money maker that is WoW.
Also interesting to note is that Diablo III is expected to come out after Starcraft II. Which part of the trilogy (or after the entire trilogy) that means, but you will get a chance to play it before holing yourself up for endless hours going after Diablo again.
I am very interested to see more details on all three of the games, but since they are from Blizzard, they will pratically print their own money when released.
PSN Thursday Update
• 0 comments • Filed UnderToday had some good content come to the PSN. After a bit of maintenance (PSN and Live both have that most annoying feature), everything is almost back to normal. Biggest two items are the release of SOCOM: Confrontation as a downloadable game and the apparent lack of Age of Booty. The latter was previously confirmed for today, but it appears to be put off until perhaps next month. More details on that as we receive them.
IGN has a great list of content released that can be found here.

Microsoft, the Arcade SKU Sucks
• 0 comments • Filed UnderI have to agree with the IGN top 10 list of reasons the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU sucks. I mean, I could only imagine the face of some excited kid on Christmas only to open up his present to one of these. It’s like buying a car, and then realizing it did not come with a way to see out the windshield, the seats were faux leather, and you got none of the accessories that you could have gotten if you paid 60 more dollars.
Anyway, hit up the link to check out their 10 reasons and tell us if you agree that the Arcade SKU is that bad. If you own one, tell us your experience with it too.

Fuel for the Metal Gear Solid 4 Fire
• 0 comments • Filed UnderAs if the rumors surrounding Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Xbox 360 were not getting old, new information has been added to the rumor mill. It has been reported that the Software and Services Vice President John Schappert has stated that the Xbox 360 DOES have “the power to run MGS4.”
He goes further to say that he does not speak for Konami but that there is no doubt that this could be possible. Now if he could explain how he expects all that data to be put on a DVD…or ten! I will not have worked out that much since Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, etc. on the PS1!

Eve Online Gets Quantum Rise
• 0 comments • Filed UnderIt seems that the new Quantum Rise major content update for Eve Online has been announced. MMORPG.com has posted a news article on their site that the ninth free update to the popular science-fiction online game includes reduced lag, balancing, and some new content for industrial ships and corporations just for starters.
Eve Online was a pretty interesting concept. I could never get into the idea of being all alone out in space glued into my ship. It just never held my interest for very long. I may go back and check out this new content soon and see if my time-based upgrades for my stats have finally finished!

Top 5 Best Video Game Quotes
• 0 comments • Filed UnderWho knew MSNBC had a gaming staff? Well, they do, and they like to make lists. One of their newest is a list of the top 5 video game quotes. I never dig lists with a so many pages to make their point, I thought this one was interesting. Some of those I would not consider the most memorable quotes in a game, but a few of them I remember from my childhood.
Check out the article here, and tell us what your top 5 video game quotes are!

How to Build a Bang for the Buck PC
• 0 comments • Filed UnderPC building is a fun and rewarding activity. I have a system with pretty good specs that I built from used and new parts for a little over 700 dollars. I already had many components that would have driven up the price easily. It plays many of the newest games with little problems.ExtremeTech has come up with a guide here on how to build your own computer rig. They take into accounts the newer tech such as Blu-Ray. Like stated in their article, this is not a hard and fast way to do it, but mere guidelines (and opinions) for getting the most for your dollar.
So hit up the link and let us know what you think about their ideas.
