Posted in » PC

Just earlier today Ubisoft announced that Far Cry 2 will be released for PC in the Spring of 2008.  With Ubisoft being one of the largest video game publishers in the industry, we can only hope for more greatness that the original Far Cry brought.

The original Far Cry won PC Gamer’s Action Game of the Year Award in 2004 and has sold over 3 million units.

Far Cry marked the beginning of a new era for shooters. An era of gorgeous graphics and of advanced artificial intelligence,” declared John Parkes, EMEA marketing director at Ubisoft. “We are confident that Far Cry 2 will have the same impact again on the FPS genre landscape.”

First Look: Switchball

We’ve all played the games where you have to maneuver a ball through various objects and narrow paths in order to reach the end of the level.  Well Switchball is really no different except for the stunning (as good as you can get for a game like this) graphics and great play control.

There are 6 levels in 5 different world adding up for a grand total of 30.  We’re hearing that there will be support for up to 8 players, both co-op and competitive modes.  Switchballis already available on the PC, but look for it hitting Xbox Arcade sometime in August.

E3 2007: Super Mario Galaxy

Posted in » Nintendo Wii

super-mario-galaxy.jpg

One of the most awaited videos games for Nintendo Wii has to be Super Mario Galaxy without a doubt.  The good news is that you will be able to get your hands on it this year, November 12th to be exact.

Players will use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to interact with Mario’s interstellar environments.  Early in the game you’ll find yourself talking to a rabbit on a small planetoid. Before zipping off he challenges you to capture him and his friends. You’ll notice the same jumping mechanics from Mario 64, including the timed triple-jump and the long jump. The long jump is particularly cool, especially on this small starter planet, because you can literally launch yourself into orbit and travel halfway around the world in one jump.

First Look: Heavenly Sword

Posted in » PlayStation 3

heavenly-sword.jpg

God of War with a chick?  Well not exactly, even though many are thinking that’s what Heavenly Sword is going to be.  Being compared to one of the best (in my opinion) action games on PS2 surely can’t be a bad thing.  But don’t expect it to play the same.

Heavenly Sword isn’t going to be one of those games where all you do is sit there hammering down on the buttons throughout the game.  Be prepared to sit back and observe your enemies movement and combat styles in order to do well at this game.
