Left 4 Dead Screens
• 1 comment • Filed UnderThe more I see Left 4 Dead, the more I think it’s gonna be pretty badass. Nothing like teaming up with 3 other friends to survive a zombie apocalypse by killing everything in sight! And when Valve is making it, you know it’s gonna be pretty damned good. Check out these screens in all their glory before you play it on November 11th!

Boku, Microsoft’s Little Big Planet
• 0 comments • Filed Under
Microsoft has recently unveiled its new project, Boku, at a conference in Los Angeles. Boku is an icon driven to allowing Xbox 360 and PC users the ability to create games with a controller. This is apparently built to create a bridge between user creation (ala Little Big Planet) and the more complex ideas behind XNA. It is being reported to be released in 2009 (with Microsoft rolling out the user created XNA stuff with the newer dashboard updates). The program manager Matthew MacLaurin says that he wanted the kids of today to be able to have as much fun as he did programming on his Commodore PET and away from the passive-TV watching.

Guitar Hero World Tour Drum Update
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThere is now a lovely drum tuning app that has been released to help you adjust and fix your Guitar Hero World Tour drumset woes. Head over to the support page to find out instructions on how to get this remedied. You need a midi-USB cable (they are sending these out free…YES!), and this will only work on Windows (no Mac……NO!). But hey, you have to know someone with a Vista/XP machine. Still, after all the money spent on these giant boxes (hilarious seeing some dad carry it through the mall for their kid), you would think that this would not even be a problem!

A Beatles Rock Band Game
• 0 comments • Filed UnderMTV, Harmonix, and Apple Corps has announced a new music game based on The Beatles. It is now been told that the game will not take the Rock Band moniker as originally thought, though it will play like a Harmonix game. While details have yet to be fully released, the premise behind the game is a journey through the music and styles of the Beatles from their first to their last albums. The music is even being produced by Giles Martin, producer of last year’s Love album. This game will be a completely stand-alone game custom built from the ground up.
I don’t know about you, but The Beatles are one of my favorite bands. I think this will be a very worthy adventure (not to mean profitable) for Harmonix. Looks like I’m going to have to save up some MORE money for games. Maybe it’ll include some vintage Beatles guitars (yay, more plastic instruments!)!
What do you guys think about a Beatles music game?

Will Hardcore Gamers Enjoy the New Dashboard
• 1 comment • Filed Under
I know when I first saw the new dashboard I was very unsure of the Avatars. There is something un-Godly about little caricatures of us dancing about. The more I have looked into what the dashboard is serving up, however, the more I am getting excited about the whole experience. GamesRadar has released a Top 5 list of reasons why the dashboard will be loved by hardcore gamers. After reading the article, I have to admit that I probably will love it and will use it more than the clunky blade version.
What do you think of the new dashboard?

Guitar Hero World Tour Drum Issue Update
• 3 comments • Filed Under
It seems Activision and Red Octane have released a formal statement addressing the problem that some people seem to be having with the drum set for their game Guitar Hero: World Tour. They state that the drum issue that effects the senstivity of the pads is probably a result of products made in the earlier manufacturing process and is isolated to just the drum controllers. The statement also included a promise of a drum tuning kit for optimization. I would rather it just work. If you have problems you are also encouraged to contact their support staff using the info provided in the statement.
Have you guys had any problems with your drums? Is that the only problems you have had?

Sequels for Little Big Planet and Saints Row 2 Already Underway
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThe guys over at 1up have compiled a couple of reports that state that Little Big Planet 2 and Saints Row 3 are already being developed. I find this crazy that one game has been out a couple of weeks at most and due to delays, the other is only had its online servers turned on last night! I guess the developers are confident enough that the two games will make them enough money to do sequels (or threequels). Hopefully they are right. Hit the link to check out the reports.
Do you think we need to see another Saints Row or Little Big Planet already?

Wednesday’s Arcade Release
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThis Wednesday on the Xbox Live Arcade will feature the game Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Now I know you are going to put off buying Fallout 3 and Guitar Hero: World Tour so you can get yourself 1200 points to purchase this awesome title! Not only can you answer questions for a computer rendered Jeff Foxworthy, but you can also use cheats like peeking at your partner’s paper. My guess is they did not want to release something too awesome in the midst of these amazing games coming out!
To make the day better they are releasing a new Marble Blast Ultra bonus level with a new achievement! Oh, that ain’t any better?

Mirror’s Edge Demo Rumored
• 0 comments • Filed UnderNow take this with a grain of salt — it comes from GameStop — but according to their Xbox 360 Mirror’s Edge page there will be a demo on November 6th. I think I’ll not make any special arrangements for that day until I hear from someone like, um I do not know, EA on whether or not this is actually happening or not. An interesting rumor to kick off this week of gaming goodness!

Guitar Hero World Tour Drums Already Having Issues
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThe reports are already pouring in that the Guitar Hero World Tour drums are already having issues. I can’t say I’m all that surprised really with the way things are made these days.
One Xbox 360 gamer says: “Just picked up the full band version for 360, at first there was a problem with the pads registering, and the red pad just completely died a minute ago… Out of the box less than 3 hours…”
