Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer announced at the annual shareholder’s meeting that 380 new Playstation 3 games will be available this business year.
“Attractive game software is the key to accelerate PS3 growth over the next year.”
Hell I don’t think it matters how many games they claim they will release, if no one can afford your console then how are you going to “accelerate PS3 growth”?

Rocky Howard to Play 4,000 Games
• 1 comment • Filed UnderTwin Galaxies, the most “official” record keepers of the videogame realm, recently printed a revised edition of its Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records. The book details 4,000 arcade games with current high scores for each one. Gamer Rocky Howard is convinced many of those records are there simply because no one can be bothered to find the arcade machine to play (emulated game scores are not allowed).
As a result, Rocky’s new life (and it’s gonna take one) goal is to play every game listed to see how “feasible the scores listed are”, then seek out the arcade machines to have his name plastered throughout the book. The experiment began just over a month ago and Rocky is currently on his 14th game. At this rate it will take him over 25 years to work through everything.

Xbox 360 Aiming For Your Family
• 0 comments • Filed UnderThe time has come for Microsoft who now wants to bring more family oriented games to Xbox 360, reports Bloomberg.
With all the success that Nintendo has had with Wii getting more women, family, and children gamers to play their games, Microsoft is now looking to expand its demographic.
Look for Microsoft to possibly lower Xbox 360 prices in the future, getting it down to the market sweet spot of $199. They will also look at rearranging store displays to not cater to just the hardcore gamer, but also to the younger generation as well.
Hey why not? If it is working for Nintendo you know Microsoft is going to jump onboard ASAP like they have done with other things … iPod.

Available tomorrow, June 6, 2007, for the asking price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10), Pac-Man: CE will be the same classic 2D Pac-Man gameplay with shiny new HD graphics, will contain “first new Pac-Man mazes in more than 26 years,” and sport new widescreen mazes with wide walls in the Championship mode.
